Christmas Stuff

My efforts at Santa Hat Desserts turned out pretty cute.  The recipe included a complex recipe for brownies, which you cooked, cooled, then cut into small brownies for the base.  It was much easier to use the HEB 'two-bites' and pecan tartlets!  It took five minutes to assemble.  One note for next time...get the cheap whipped cream in a can.  I opted for real (heavy) whipped cream, albeit aerosal.  Just didn't dispense quite as easily as the cheap artificial kind does.  Tasted yummy though...so whatever.
Mel made adorable 'Melted Snowmen'...another simple recipe.  She used plain sugar cookies, topped them with smooth white frosting, plopped on a briefly microwaved marshmallow, then when all was cooled, added final touches with edible icing pens.  Cute, and tasty...
Melanie also made yummy pralines using Uncle Will's time-honored recipe...another hit on the sweets list, along with a moist apple cake made by Pat!  So when dessert-time arrived, these two cutie-pies managed to tear away from exciting new Christmas tech toys!

John and I tried to snap a perfect holiday picture,
but our dogs were un-enthusiastic.
Oh well...Happy holidays!
