Mother Nature

Several weeks ago I purchased a bundle of unusual twigs, thinking they'd make an artistic arrangement for my dining table.  They were long and twirly and interesting, and did look lovely reaching up and out from the vase in which I placed them.  After a couple of weeks, John pointed out some greenery appearing.  More buds showed up, then leaves began sprouting everywhere.  I am amazed at the life dormant within these 'sticks...just waiting to burst out with a bit of warmth and moisture and sunlight.  I think of how long ago these twigs were cut, then bundled, stored, wrapped, boxed, and finally shipped to retail shops across the country for display.  That one of those bundles wound up on my dining table, bursting forth new life is nothing short of a miracle to me.
